Since its early days back in 2013, Citrix Endpoint Management main mission has been focusing on providing the best productivity and security balance for mobile end users thanks to its Citrix MAM SDK (formerly known as Citrix MDX) technology.

Citrix MAM SDK brings to the organization a highly secured container and best-in-class micro VPN solution for Citrix Endpoint Management administrators to prevent mobile app data leakage and secure the data-in-motion, respectively.

Over the last few weeks, we have released newer versions of Citrix MAM SDK for iOS and Android, which we highly recommend customers, ISVs, and partners to take advantage of.

So what’s new?

Citrix MAM SDK for iOS 24.5.0

This new release primarily addressed an issue when developers were trying to get approval for a line-of-business application to the Apple AppStore, yet it was rejected. To get the latest version of Citrix MAM SDK for iOS, go here.

Additionally, this version of MAM SDK consolidates prior fixes and enhancements in the following areas:

  • Fix the issue that after the AG certificate expired, MAM SDK didn’t perform the renewed action.
  • Fix the issue that the MAM SDK App crashes when the App is upgraded on iPad with iPadOS 17.3.1 and later OS version.
  • Support DNS suffix to access intranet sites via short name.
  • Fix the issue of Secure Hub not showing app upgrades.
  • Fix the issue that apps with MAM SDK might show “Compliance Alert”.

Citrix MAM SDK for Android 24.4.0

This new release focuses on delivering support for the TLS 1.3 protocol. For organizations looking to comply with the latest security protocols, this is the version to go.

Don’t worry, iOS developers! Our team is diligently working on supporting TLS 1.3 soon as well. Stay tuned for the announcement later this summer.

Similar to Citrix MAM SDK for iOS, the latest version for Android consolidates prior fixes and enhancements like:

  • Fix the issue of unneeded certificate revocation
  • Support Intune policy for mVPN.

As always, you should expect newer versions of our Citrix mobile productivity apps (Citrix Secure Mail and Citrix Secure Web) later this summer, supporting the latest versions of Citrix MAM SDK for iOS and Android.

Migrate to Citrix MAM SDK

As mentioned in prior announcements, Citrix MDX is no longer supported since July 31, 2023.

For those of you still running Citrix-managed apps in Legacy MDX mode, we advised you to migrate to Citrix MAM SDK as soon as possible.

We rolled out new warning messages in the Citrix Endpoint Management console to remind you to transition to Citrix MAM SDK. Please don’t ignore this message!

The next major releases of Apple iOS 18 and Android 15 are around the corner later this year, which could impact mobile apps still running in Legacy MDX mode.

Remember, Citrix is no longer testing nor maintaining Legacy MDX code since its end of support (July 31, 2023). Any new SDK enhancements or fixes are done directly in the MAM SDK.

If you cannot transition to Citrix MAM SDK for any reason, please do not hesitate to let us know. You can reach out to me and Aarti Chawla directly.
