At Citrix, we’re in the business of enabling flexible workforces with our digital workspace solutions, which provide end users with secure remote access to all of the resources they need to engage and be productive wherever they work.
Today, we are pleased to announce the public technical preview of App Protection for SaaS and internal web apps. Offered as part of Citrix Secure Workspace Access, the solution provides the enhanced security controls that today’s remote work environments demand. With this policy-controlled technology-enabled, any SaaS or internal web apps initiated from the Citrix Workspace app are protected from keylogging and screen-capturing malware that could enable attackers to steal potentially sensitive data from the organization.
Citrix App Protection Policies protect end-users from keylogger malware by scrambling all keystrokes within Citrix Workspace, including logins, rendering the key logger malware ineffective and leaving corporate resources protected. When malware attempts to take a screenshot, App protection returns blank screenshots.
In the demo video below, you can see how an employee is protected against malicious keylogger that might be present in the employee’s BYO device while accessing a work app. It also shows how data from these critical work apps are secured against unauthorized transmission from within an organization to an external destination or recipient by restricting the apps’ screen capture.
App Protection for SaaS and internal web apps is an entitlement with Citrix Secure Workspace Access, which customers can purchase as a standalone option. All active Citrix Workspace Premium and Citrix Workspace Premium Plus customers can use the feature at no extra cost and start applying App Protection policies today. The minimum versions of Citrix Workspace app required to support this feature are CWA Mac 2005 and CWA Windows 2006.
